This will be one of your favorite recipes ever. This one has been in my family for a very long time. And you will ask yourself and the recipe, where have you been all my life. πŸ™‚

Sure, it can be tedious and cumbersome to bake their own bread. But you know what, it’s simple, easy recipes. Where you do not have to be a master baker to manage to bake. And where you do not need a giant dishwasher to take care of everything afterwards. This is one of thouse easy going recipes.

4,5 cup buttermilk
7 cups Rye flour
4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons crushed anise
3 cups syrup
0.25 cup lingonberry jam
Mix all ingredients together. The dough should be fairly loose. Bake in a greased and floured pan at 175 degrees for 50 minutes.

I love Rye bread! Will get to get the husband to try this recipe – bread is ‘his thing’ and I am not allowed to make any. I don’t complain, which wife doesn’t want her husband to make fresh bread and bring a slice or two for breakfast in bed? πŸ™‚
