These chocolate toffees have a big place in my heart and in my family. Especially once episode, over 20 years ago, when I had done the toffees several days in a row , they were so popular here at home. So this day , I did so 4 x the recipe. Was lots of toffees and my plan was to avoid having to do them in a few days anyway. Added them in boxs and would hide them so the kids did not find them. The thing is that I was a single mom to my three wonderful daughters. It became calm and quiet at home, but it was at eveningtime , so it was not so strange . But when it’s been too quiet for a while , I went and look for the kids. There are all three in a bed with there own jars of chocolate fudge and caramel all over their faces . But they were so happy that it was not possible to get angry at them. Imagine the 3 -year-olds with chocolate all over them , beaming with happiness…. Now they lives abroad and makes them very often as well. 🙂
So these toffees is really a tradition here at home. All, and I mean everyone, has asked for the recipe for these chocolate toffees .
They are absolutely amazing ! One can not believe that they are so incredibly good , when the ingredients are so simple and cheep . And what is so good that most people who have some form of food allergy can eat them.
4 tablespoons butter or margarine
0,5 cup syrup
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa
Everything cooked together into a thick paste. Make caramel sample , ie drip a bit of caramel mixture into a glas of cold water. Is it possible to make a ball of it so the batter is finished. Hitting the buckling shape. Allow to cool . Enjoy !
