Konafa are among the tastiest available. It’s a furry cheesecake easily explained. The classic is without almonds and raisins but because I really like them both, I had it in this time.

Konafa
1 package Konafa dough
syrup:
450ml sugar
250 ml water
filling:
150g melted butter
1 tablespoon rose water
300ml cream
250ml milk
100ml soaked golden raisins
100ml sliced or chopped almonds
3 tbsp corn flour
1 package of cream cheese
Chopped nuts for decoration
Boil until the syrup until it becomes thick. Melt butter and spread it into the dough. Add half of the dough in a mold. Cook the stuffing until it thickened. Bake half the dough 200 degrees until it got light color. Add the filling. Sprinkle with almonds and raisins. Add the last of Kunafa dough. Bake until nicely browned, about 20 minutes. Turn over the syrup. When it has cooled cut into squares.
