North African tomato sauce


This sauce goes with everything. Its so easy and tasty.

North african tomatoe sauce

5 peeled tomatoes into chunks
1 chopped yellow onion
2 crushed garlic cloves
1 tsp hot paprika
1 teaspoon cumin
0.5 tsp turmeric
1 tbsp chopped coriander
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
water
oil
Saute the onion soft, add the garlic and tomatoes. Let it sizzle for a while. Add remaining ingredients and let it boil for a few moments. Add any water. Take a blender and blend everything into a smooth sauce.

  1. This looks so yummy! I can’t wait to try it. It would be such a change from my regular tomato sauce (plus I love anything with coriander)!

    I got all excited before I realised, through seeing out of the corner of my eye that first comment, that it contains coriander.
    CAN’T STAND the stuff. If I eat something that contains it (the fresh stuff, I mean – not the spice) I throw up.

      Then just leave the coriander out then or use dried if you can. 🙂 Thats gives also a very nice sauce without the coriander. Acutally in Egypt they diont use that in this sauce, but Morocco does. 🙂 So tryit without it 🙂
