Meskouta – Moroccan yoghurt cake, the best one


In my opinion this Meskouta the tastiest in the world! One of Morocco’s most delicious cakes! So here’s the w’s mother makes this cake. But there are so different variations on this.
Meskouta
juice of 1 lemon
3 chopped dates
3 tablespoons candied lemon peel
3 eggs
120g yogurt
1 1/2 cup Sugar
2 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tsp baking powder
1 Pinch of salt
Stir everything until smooth. Turn into a greased and floured mold. Bake at 175c for about 40-50 minutes.

    My husband’s aunt gave me a VERY similar recipe (in Italy), but I lost it and have not had a chance to call her to get it…so I will try this one! Super yum!
