What if there was a chance to send scents through online. The scent of this wonderful stew from Cameroon is absolutely stunning! My entire home is filled with the aroma from the spices and vegetables. And the colors are just fantastic. They really go the Cameroons colors green, red and yellow. Guess their football team that will play in the World Cup in Brazil have been eating this casserole many times.
The name Poulet directeur général or Chicken general manager will assume that this stew usually served to those in higher social classes.
DG Chicken or Poulet DG
2 skinless whole chicken split in 2 (= 4 total)
1 onion into wedges
2 garlic cloves
1 red bell pepper
1 green pepper
1 baked potato, cut into small squares
1 sliced Plantana (food banana)
2 teaspoons berbere
1 tsp melegueta pepper + 1 tsp ginger
100ml long beans
Start by rubbing the chicken with the spices and let get to marinate for a few hours. Then, and heat the oil and fry the potatoes until it is finished and coloring. take up and let those few drain the oil. Do the same with food bananas and even take it up and then drain.
Fry chicken so it browned. Pick it up. Milling onion until it becomes soft and add rest of ingredients. Add chicken on top and close with a lid. Let simmer for 15-20 minutes or until chicken is done. Remove the chicken and add the potatoes and banana. Heat it again and add the chicken. Ready to serve
