Finally! Having yearned for a real good Paella, so I made one for dinner. It is one of my absolute favorite dishes.
Thanks to my good friend, Minna, who had been so kind and sent lots of genuine saffron to me because she knows I use it often in the food, so it was possible to do it. And as its costs more then gold, you cant use it every day. Well I cant anyhow…
Have you never eaten paella, so now’s the time to do it.
Paella
200 g peeled shrimp
0.5 g Saffron
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 chopped red pepper
100 ml green peas
250 ml avioro rice
500 ml broth
50ml chopped parsley
juice of Β½ lemon
Peel and chop the onion and garlic. Fry in oil in a large pot. Stir in the saffron, spices, peppers, and rice. Pour in water and bouillon. Let the rice cook on low heat for about 20 min. When rice is done, stir down the shrimp and let it all heat through. Add the lemon juice just before serving.
There are special paella pans but I use this serving pan, actually its a super pan that fits most occasions and additionally attractive to serve out. The pits in the bottom of the pan, allow meat to not swimming in grease when fried. If you want to get one, you will find them here atΒ Lyckas med mat
I used to make this so much that I tired of it but it has been too long! Thanks for posting this as a reminder to me.

Wow, I’d love to get some of that gold you’re buying for less than the cost of saffron. When I checked prices around here, saffron can be had for $4.50 CDN per gram, but gold runs $44.50 CDN per gram.
No, forget the gold, what I’d really like is a serving of that paella.
