It’s really fun when you have used the same ingredient in many, many years in the same way but then I get the chance to discover it anew through a brand new recipe.
I have a friend from Africa who have eaten Cassava all her life with food. Many, many times… But for the first time at Cassava, as something sweet, was in a cake was here at my house. And it was something completely new to her. Not at all like she was used to it.
The same ingredients but with entirely new possibilities. Stuff I think is how fun and exciting time! So exciting especially when Cassavan is totally new to me. Remember myself when I was growing up, and carrots were used only for food. But who today have not eaten carrot cake? Did not exist when I was growing up.
CASSAVA CAKE WITH TONKA BEAN
1 st large grated Cassava
1 can of coconut milk
1 can of condensed milk
1 finely grated tonka bean
4 tablespoons granulated sugar
100g melted butter
Tear cassavan finely into a mold. Pour in whole coconut milk and half a can of condensed milk. Mix in sugar, vanilla and melted butter. Bake at 225 C for 25 minutes. Remove the mold and pour in and distribute the Remaining condensed milk.
Lower the oven to 175 degrees and bake another 15 minutes or until the cake with golden brown color.
