Patatas a la pobre – very best Spanish potatoes


Here in Spain, or at least here in Andalusien, you very often get this potatoes dish with your meal. As many non-Spanish people don’t know the real name, Poor mans potatoes, so they will ask you if you want Spanish potato’s.

Poor man potatoes comes from it’s a very cheap dish and therefore people with very little money.

Try it out! Lovely to BBQ, steaks or Sunday roasts.

Patatas a la pobre

  • 3 medium sized potatoes in slices

  • 1 yellow sliced onion

  • 1 green pepper in slices (I prefer red)

  • 2 pressed garlic gaps

  • 50 ml olive oil

  • Salt and pepper

  • Fresh chopped parsley

Put the oven at 225 degrees.

Lubricate an ovenproof shape. Wrap with potatoes, onions, peppers, salt and pepper.

Stir over the olive oil. Cover the mold with foil and set in the oven for every 20 minutes. Remove the foil and put on the grill. Leave the mold in the oven until the potatoes have a nice color and are cooked.
