Eat like a healthy Pharaoh – Foul medames

This very easy quick disk. Perfect as breakfast when you need to stay full for a long time. Or as a very nice lunch.

Today you find in Egypt this been sold in mostly every street corner. Cheep and healthy. And it will keep the hunger away for a long time. Excavations have found this was something they often gave the workers who built the pyramids.

Eat like a Pharaoh. Excavations have found that this was served when the pyramids was built.

Foul medames

  • 1 can of flava beans drained
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olivoil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • (1 whisk egg)

Mash the beans with a fork or a potato masher in a sauce pan. Add the rest of the ingredients. Heat it up gently on medium heat. About the egg I prefer not to put it in with the beans.

When it’s became heated, serve with a boiled egg, tomatoes, olive oil and lemon juice on the top. If you can get Liba bread you eat the meal using the bread instead of a spoon or fork.

Enjoy!
